Friday the 13th Camp Crystal Lake: NECA Reissues Accessory Set

Monster Mayhem

In the second NECA Monster Mayhem release, NECA reissues the popular Friday the 13th Camp Crystal Lake Accessory Set. With these collectible props from the iconic campsite, fans can recreate their favorite scenes and bring Jason Voorhees’ terrifying legacy to life. Accessory sets like these are essentially movie props in figure form that complement Neca figures. This one contains pieces and parts from the famous Camp Crystal Lake, the camp that Jason Voorhees stalks in seven of the twelve Friday the 13th movies. With this accessory set, you will be able to stage iconic scenes from the best of the Friday the 13th film franchise.

The most important thing to note is that accessory sets do not include a figure. This set does not come with a Jason Voorhees, and if you don’t already have a Jason figure, then this set probably wont be for you. This set does include iconic props from three different locations within Camp Crystal Lake, the entrance, the dock, and the bottom of the lake.

The Camp Entrance

The iconic Camp Crystal Lake sign stands at 7″ across and gives you the ability to recreate the entry to the camp. This is the first sign that campers see in the first four Friday the 13th Films. Later films try to hide or rename the camp for storyline reasons, but the first four films use the original name and yellow sign. Jason himself debuted in Friday the 13th Part 2 and continued his rampage through a several day streak that finally need in Part 4.

The Dock

The dock at Camp Crystal Lake has been featured in as many movies as the camp itself. The dock is perhaps the most important location in the entire camp. This is the place Allison fled to the lake after killing Pamela, where Tina’s psychic battle with Jason ended, where Tommy finally contained Revenant Jason forever (or so he thought), and where Freddy Kreuger and Jason Voorhees finished their epic crossover battle (which Jason won). The Neca version is 7″ long and 11″ tall, and features two posts and an overhead light prop, which make it the perfect size to pose your Jason figure.

The Lake

The bottom of Camp Crystal Lake. Jason Voorhees Final resting place… for a while. This set of props comes from one particular movie, Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives. This is the first movie where Jason is entirely and inarguably a supernatural being. After accidentally reviving Jason, Tommy Jarvis to the center of the lake. There, he is able to chain his neck to a rock, and send him sinking to the bottom, still conscious, but immobile. The Neca version of this scene contains the rock and the chain prop. The rock includes a semi transparent tube, meant to allow a Jason figure to be propped up in the same position that he ends Part VI sitting in. The yellow Camp Crystal Lake sign makes another appearance here, this time it is graffitied with the Camp Blood name.

Monster Mayhem Plot Twist

This release gives us significantly more information about the Neca Monster Mayhem event than we had before. The Neca Holiday Chucky figure showed that the Friday Announcements would be reserved for brand new items, but that still left us with many announcements scheduled for other days of the week. Those were a mystery until now. Now, we can add the possibility of reissued popular sets to the announcement speculation for the rest of May. This set is particularly exciting, because the resale market has dubbed this as a collectors item. The reissue offers a fantastic value at $35, a bargain compared to over $250 for the original on resale markets. Preorders have already started at the Neca Online store, and they will continue through May 27. The set itself will ship in October 2024.

Monster Mayhem has now given us a new figure, and a reissue of a formerly expensive fan favorite set. What would you like to see for the next Monster Mayhem announcement?
