Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights Orlando is importing a Hollywood Favorite. The fifth original house for Halloween Horror Nights 2024 will be Monstruos: Legends of Latin America. This popular house originated at Halloween Horror Nights 2023 in Hollywood, but the Orlando version will be its own unique twist. Visitors will tour the house with their tour guide La Muerta (Death) aencountering three Latin American Legends, Tlahuelpuchi, La Lechuza, and El Silbón.

Tlahuelpuchi: The Shape-Shifting Vampire

The Tlahuelpuchi is a shape-shifting vampire witch from Mexican folklore. It disguises itself as a bird in order to suck the blood from infants. Born with the bloodthirsty affliction, Tlahuelpuchi does not learn its abilities. It shares weaknesses with European vampires, hating garlic and mirrors.

La Lechuza: The Ominous Owl-Witch

La Lechuza is a witch-like figure in Latin American myths, often depicted as an old woman who can turn into an owl. She attacks people who venture out at night, luring them into vulnerable positions with a song. Associated with bad luck and ill omens, whistling at night is said to deter her.

El Silbón: The Whistling Phantom

Whistling will not protect you from El Silbón, The Whistler. El Silbón is a ghost like creature who signals his presence with a whistle. The closer he gets, the farther his whistle sounds. Only the faintest sound is heard before he strikes. El Silbón appears as a tall skeleton, carrying a bag of bones.

Fiesta de Chupacabra (2022)

In 2022, Halloween Horror Nights featured ‘Fiesta de Chupacabra,’ transporting the infamous Chupacabra from Puerto Rico to a Mexican village. Fiesta de Chupacabra hints at how Monstruos may twist traditional Latin American legends. Typically a dog-like creature, the Chupacabra was reimagined as a family of sabre-tooth cat creatures terrorizing a village. Familiar legends may surprise visitors in Monstruos.
